Capricious Cricket.

Warning: Yet another Cricket post.

Bangladesh 251 for 8.
South Africa 184 all out in 48.4 overs.

When the ninth ranked team beat the sixth ranked team, it was not too big a deal for many people except for the outraged fans, dubbed the ‘Blue Billion’ by an exceptionally hyperbolic media.

But when the same ninth ranked team comprehensively beats the team which occupied the top slot till last week and is now ranked second, it begs the question…

Is Bangladesh going to do an “India in 1983” this time around?

Go Tigers. The Kangaroos too are eatable.

Well I’m sure we can all imagine the ranting and raving of the coach in the South African dressing room after that match. A true debacle. Are you changing your allegiance again, Vijay? I’m sticking to the Aussies until they’re beaten, if they are.

My dear husband broke down and subscribed to the internet feed for the last 24 matches plus the final, so now he spends all his day in front of the computer. Actually, it’s pretty good. Luckily I have my own laptop and a wireless connection.

JMB, The post was late by a day because I get all my cricket world cup news only from the newspapers. I gave up watching the stupid game on TV.

I’m beginning to believe that any team that I support will not do well.

    So,

    Go Aussies, Go.

    Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.
