Saturday Photo Hunt - “Shiny”

I couldn’t think of anything shiny for this week’s theme. This may qualify….

This is a photo of an interesting table lamp that is in my parents’ house in Coimbatore. This is what it looks like when it is lit in a dark room. I don’t have a photo of the piece in its unlit state. It’s made of some kind of translucent plastic with a porcelain-ish finish and it looks good unlit. The basket is pale green with darker green shading and the dogs look very natural with a light tan to dark brown colouring.

- Shot in 2004 with a Nikon CoolPix E4500. I think I used the ‘Museum’ preset.

Lovely picture it is !! Gives a very nice feeling. :D
Next time when you visit them, click in unlit state and publish both of them together. It’ll be nice to see the two forms. :)

Vijay, it looks shiny enough for the theme. I think it is a very interesting piece and it would be nice to see it “in real life”. The dogs are wonderful. Are they sharpees?

I’ll get a picture of the piece in natural light the next time I visit or I’ll get my brother to send me a picture.
JMB: I have no idea what sharpees are!? Shocking as it may sound to you, I’m not a pet person and I don’t particularly like dogs.

    What?!

    You don’t like dogs?

    *laugh*

Sorry I haven’t been by in a while. I have been very busy lately.

Well Vijay, you can be a non-pet person, although I can’t imagine anyone not liking dogs. Were you terrorized by one in your childhood? But sharpees are the Chinese wrinkly dogs and if you google an image search for them I think you’ll find they look like the ones in the lamp.
Fake for next week. Hmm, I wonder.

And you left it at your parents house? If I were you, it would have found place almost immediately in a central area in our living room.
