Photo Hunt - ‘Music’

About | Theme: Music | Roll

My daughter’s music school students put up a performance of Carnatic music for Pongal this year.

This was her first time on stage in a proper musical performance. She is the youngest in the group.

The boy in the front row of the audience seems to be very bored ;)

Have a great weekend everyone.

You are such a deep well of information Vijay. I will learn much from you it seems. I printed off the entire information on Carnatic music and bookmarked more information Pongal.

Your daughter is such a beautiful little girl. I love the beautiful dress she is wearing and I chuckled at the little guy in the front row. How cute is that? Yep….it’s the same in every culture.:)

She doesn’t seem too nervous, although it helps to be in a group. Lovely dress as CA says. I suppose that young lad was there because his sister was in the group and his mother made him come! Hopefully he’ll learn to appreciate it later.
How about an audio link so we can hear? Demanding aren’t I? I’ll see if there’s one on YouTube.

This is so beautiful. I wish I could hear it. Is your daughter the teacher or performer (sorry, I get a bit confused).

CA: Thanks for the kind words. But I really should thank Wikipedia for most of the information about India that I link to.
JMB: She’s never been nervous about getting on stage and singing or dancing. Good for her. I had to overcome a bad case of stage-fright in high school. I’ll try and post a better recording than the one that I posted last night on Pownce.
meeyauw: My daughter is the little girl in the purple dress. She’s seven-years old and is a student in the music school.

Vijay, she is so grown up from the time I saw her last ! I would LOVE to hear her sing. What song did she sing?
I will definitely show this picture to V. V remembers her very well, and would be impressed.

Lakshmi: You last saw her two months after this photo was taken - a sure sign that all that thinking is muddling your brain :D

    Aw….
But kids DO look older and bigger in paavadai. Check this picture for proof.

I do agree with CA - I learn so much from your blog.

How did your daughter enjoy performing ? I’d love to hear the clip :)
