random notes & schmooze.

RL1 is intruding on my blogging.

I’m way behind on the ‘Serendipity Vs Zemblanity‘ story that I thought would be over in a few posts and in as many days.

Cuckoo and Cathy probably think I’m very rude, as I haven’t responded or made any mention of the fact that I’ve been tagged by them.

Meanwhile I’ve been busy exploring some great blogs that I came across, all Indian and all of them clever and humorous.

A Twist of Word and Mind by Rambodoc. His about page should give you a fair idea about what his blog will be like…

Rambodoc is a perineal word twister. And spells badly, too. Both within and away from his workplace, he is at peace with ideas, thoughts and words, which he loves to experiment with. Philosophically a votary for freedom and laissez-faire capitalism, he is philologically a Pun-jabi, physiologically a tranquolatile mix of testosterone, endorphins and encephalins, and pathologically is a potential case for solitary confinement, with intermittent electric shocks to obscure corners of the cerebral cortex. Based in Kolkata, India, he loves writing, reading, cooking and eating, all the while traveling around, if possible.

Thanks to my friend Lakshmi for pointing out this wonderful blogger.

Proses Anonymitus by the blogger-formerly-known-as-Mobius-Stripped. I feel guilty that I seem to be the final feather that broke his back. And I seem to have catalysed the change with my first ever comment in his blog!2 People who have seen me will agree that I’m a pretty heavy ‘feather’ and a fellow should count himself lucky to be alive if I ever fell on him ;)

Doing Jalsa and Showing Jilpa
by Krish Ashok who in his own words….

…is an anti-social philistine whose aim in life is to put his 10 fingers (and 10 toes as well) into as many (fruity flavoured) pies as possible. Web 2.0, violin, guitar, balloon-wala flutes, pencil sketching, Terry Pratchett, Asterix, Chacha Chaudhry, Rajinikanth and gadgets are some of the pies whose flat surfaces have been disturbed by the intrusions of his fingers (so far). Mixing these pies together in ways not attempted before is also a source of everlasting passion for him. In addition to that, he loves the city of Chennai, its auto drivers and its very expressive language, Madras Bashai (a.k.a Tanglish).

I couldn’t resist after I saw thalaivar’s picture on his blog’s header image and the very good photo of Krish-in-a-Sivaji-pose in the sidebar. Having absolutely no musical ability, I was impressed by his solo compositions, especially this highly original rendering of an obscure 7th century Sanskrit poem.

Finally a note to self…

Visit Abi’s blog everyday.

I got to know of both Proses/Mobius & Krish from links at nanopolitan. He has introduced a new blogger today, Nomad Metallurgist, that I’ll have to check out.

Footnotes:

1. RL, I learnt recently from my blog guru, is MUD-speak for real life).
2. I’m assuming he’s a he rather than a she. I have not come across a reference to the author’s sex other than the fact that s/he chose the Julius Caesar character out of the Asterix comics as his/her avatar.

I’m back because you showed up on bloglines again and also because I forgot to congratulate you on India’s win in the 20/20.

I use the expression RL all the time but I didn’t know it came from MUD-speak since I didn’t even know what MUD is. I do know what SL is however: Second Life, a virtual reality world owned by Linden Labs and I actually have a personality with avatar in SL since I once went to a ceremony there! I thought RL was just used by SL people so I learned something from you today! MUD! And as well some new blogs to visit. IMO it’s a successful day if you learn something new.

    Thang you ba.
    your blog also blogrolled.

  3. 3 Rambodoc

Hi, mate! Thanks for the kind words and all that crap!
Am currently broadly challenged (no, not that kinda broad)in the internet sense
I hope to be able to get internet at home soon so that I can properly look at your blog and make less idiotic comments!
    :-)

BTW, your comment box seems to be having a small problem with continence, with mine spilling over to the blogroll…

  4. 4 Rambodoc

Hi. It looks like a comment of mine is crawling in your spam net.

  5. 5 Cuckoo

Thanks for the links. I’ll surely check them.

And oh rude ?? *Cuckoo smiles* :)

  6. 6 Rambodoc

Trying to post a comment here is like applying to the Chief Minister for a free piece of land, where one could build a hospital for poor patients and become malodorously rich.

    JMB & Krish: Thanks.
Cuckoo: I’ll stick to my promise, but probably a little late. It’s been another busy week. The tag will be done :)
Rambodoc: Welcome. Glad to know that you are another discerning doc - I meant another Mac user. I take it that your cryptic comment means my blog loads very slowly. There are too many add-ons and plugins, which slow down the initial page loading. It could also be because you use Safari. I found it to be much slower on Safari than Firefox. If you know enough to choose Mac, you should be on Firefox.

No, actually, I sent in two precious comments which would have qualified nomally for the Nobel Prize in Literature, but your blog ate it up as Spam (Is your blog name Spam Man’s Notes?)…
And, though I use a Mac, I am blogging out of home for the past week.
Yeah, I have Firefox as well, but am not fully into it yet….

  9. 9 cathy

Oh I would never think you rude, just busy. Thanks for giving me new blogs to check out…:)

Rambodoc: Thanks for telling me what went wrong. If you happen to visit here again, you’ll see that I managed to recover both your comments from Spam Karma’s Harvest. I guess it thought anyone with a name like yours had to be a spammer ;) I noticed that your comment which overshot the box was done on IE. How could you?? I can understand a Mac user sticking to the default Safari, but to go so low as to use IE is unforgivable.
Please check the top of my left sidebar. IE usually screws up many Wordpress themes.

Like I said, I am blogging from out of home for the last week, and so IE it is. Right now I am graffiti-ing one Dr. Laughlin, and a Luis Tata…. sorry, folks!
