I heard about this from a classmate this evening.
Gayatri is the wife of Dr. Ramesh, a pediatrician practicing in Erode. I’ve known Ramesh as a friend and doctor for over a decade.
Gayatri Ramesh, aged 28 years, a mother of two children, aged 7 and 5, has been diagnosed with ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA (Pro B Cell), type of BLOOD CANCER. She is presently undergoing Chemotherapy in the Christian Medical College , Vellore,India.
In the absence of any brother or sister, her Consultants have recommended an Unrelated Bone Marrow Transplantation (MUD) to be performed as soon as possible. Since such transplantations are presently not performed in India, we have to take her to places like Australia, Singapore or the USA.
As a first step we have initiated a Bone Marrow donor search worldwide to find a suitable donor, which may take around 3 months. The estimated cost of the treatment, even at a cheapest center is around US$ 250,000/= ( One Crore Indian rupee).( In some centers in United States the cost will be more than $500,000(> 2 crore Indian Rupee)
Since the huge amount has to be mobilized in a very short period of time, we are in search of people who can offer donations and help us financially. Your donations will help Gayatri with funds for a bone marrow transplant as soon as an unrelated bone marrow donor is identified.
A JOURNEY OF THOUSAND MILES MUST BEGIN WITH A SINGLE STEP
NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL - EVERY RUPEE COUNTS.
Words fail me when I think of what their family is going through. Any help will be appreciated.
There are details of how you can help / donate in the sidebar in this site.
